“Failure: My Greatest Success” by James Hynes is about a high schooler who  tries to make the high school football and basketball team but then he gets cut. He gets down on himself but for the final season he plays track and in the last meet he tries to beat 5 minutes in the mile and he does it and he gains all of his confidence back.

This is a good way to live. You can’t win or succeed every single time you do something. If you fail, you should use that loss to keep going and win the next time. If you don’t make the team you try harder and make it next year or for the next season. That is what he did. Although he didn’t make the football or basketball team, he didn’t give up. He made the track team and beat his personal best.
