The Child Sorcer
prince has been stolen,
The whole Kingdom runs amok.
They did not know how his eys glowed,
Magic deep in his blood.
Raising a son is hard enough,
But for Winifred
He young boy doesnt know
where to stop.
A dying knight,
That's all he says,
But magic lurks,
forbideen as is.
Chapter 1: The Lost ChildChapter 1:
the Child
it is a cool night,
Sun setting in the west,
A breeze from the right,
But no silence is left.
A woman screams,
the child wails,
the doctor smiles,
The birth prevails.
His hair is so soft,
His eyes so blue,
And his mother smiles,
The father does too.
They lay him down,
Give him a kiss goodnight,
Then kiss one another,
Before turning out the light.
But alas,
They do not see the figure,
it’s just out there,
Ready to steal the one true heir.
They do not touch a thing,
Don’t make a single sound,
Head swiveling
To see if anyone’s around.
All is hush,
Until the baby awakes,
But they give it a shush,
And make their escape.
The parents awake,
The cradle is a quiet,
The shout out,
and the mother begins to quake.
“My child,
My precious boy!”
She cries as she clutches,
His very first toy.
The King yells,
Summoning the guards,
But nobody know,
Whether to look near or far.
“Henry!”
They yell,
“Let him return to our arms!”
But nobody answers,
Not even the one who took him.
Chapter 2
THe woman comes home,
Feeling so sick,
Her mouth is dry,
And winces as she sits.
A little blonde boy comes in,
Yelling for Jokes and tricks,
And she smiles fondly,
So she does his wish.
Knocking upon the floor three times,
She conjures a snakes,
Snapping and hissing,
Giving the little one a shake.
The a bird,
One with brown wooden wings,
Which lands on his shoulder,
And asks for a tune to sing.
He giggles
The magic toys put away,
Yawning and tired,
Though he did almost nothing that day.
“Now Henry,”
The woman says,
her tongue quick,
“Can you lift this cup a tiny bit?”
He focuses hard,
The only sound a clock’s tick,
And raises it up,
Before it falls and splits.
He lets out a cry,
Tears welling in his eyes,
Cutting his hand
As he picks it out.
She soothes him
And sends him to bed,
Making sure only the best dreams,
Fill his blonde head.
She hears the soldiers,
Asks what their for,
When they pound loudly,
On her old oak doors.
“Excuse me miss,
But the prince’s kidnapper is found,
He said he left the boy,
At a witches ground.”
She gives a light laugh,
Because while she is a sorceress,
She knew nothing
of the wicked deed.
She’s found her son,
Sleeping in the morning sun,
As an infant,
On the porch floor.
She sends them away,
No helpful path to lay,
She knows not that her son
should wear a crown.
Chapter 3
Henry focused,
Trying not to let the bowl slip,
His mother would be anger,
And throw a magical fit.
He was sixteen now,
A clear glow in his eye,
As he whispered soft words,
and made his dishes float and fly.
He sets it down,
Hearing his mother’s great sigh,
Deciding to take a walk,
While the light moon is high.
He walks through a glade,
Night winds whistling in his ear,
And he sings an old tune,
Thinking no one will hear.
Not a sound is heard,
Not a conversation exchanged,
It’s just the lost prince,
Singing unafraid.
Then,
Comes a very brave knight,
His horse is stomping,
Strong and white.
But the boy is not fazed,
Keeps saying nothing at all,
Only barely flinches,
As the drunken knight falls.
HE tries to help,
But the knight wheezes for breath,
And tells him a secret,
He cannot tell until death.
“The prince is here,
I took him myself,
But his sorcery would be shunned,
From his parents of great wealth!”
He continued to cough,
but had more to say,
Even if he knew
it was the last day.
“Please my friend,
Mount this horse, quick!
And go back to the land,
Where I used to stand and smile in wit!
You must return
say you’re a prince,
For I promise you wealth,
For helping the sick!”
Then he simply disappeared,
Leaving the boy to think,
as he mounted to the horse,
And went to the land the man spoke of in quick steps.
Home again Henry,
Though you do not know,
Your magic will hurt you,
If you let it show.

Henry is strange, inspired by fairy tales.
