Michael and Me ( Chapter 7)
I had no idea that the famous person everyone was talking about was Michael. I thought that the reporters were crazy and that they had mistaken Michael for someone else. I was wrong. “Ashley, there is something that I should have told you right away because I knew that it would eventually come up one day. My real name is Alex Vailor. I am in a band called Scream for the Fight. My band and I all decided that we could not possibly come up with a new album unless we got away from all the publicity and craziness of the city. The best place we could think of was here. My grandparents used to live here when I was little and I always felt safe here so it seemed like just the right decision,” he said. I didn’t know what to do but I knew one thing, I was NOT feeling sympathetic for him after what he just put me through. His life for the past few months had been a lie that I was a part of without any knowledge of whom or what he was. I was heartbroken. “You need to explain everything to me right now and you better explain fully because I am definitely not in the mood for this! I just got surrounded by paparazzi and found that my “boyfriend” is not really my boyfriend,” I screamed with desperation for the truth.
We left school that day and he took me out to eat and told me everything. He told me his real name where he was from, he told me about his family, and the life he had come from before. I was a bit overwhelmed but I could handle it because I had no other choice. Breaking up with him was not the option. I was in love with “Michael” and there was no way that I was going to let that go. No matter who he pretended to be, he was still the person that I had fallen in love with, just a different name.
