Ocean of Feeling
She settled at the edge of the water as the crisp ocean air swirled around her. She thinks about how badly she wants to start over. She wants to escape and forget about the world. The water gently laps at her bare feet. She lets go of everything just for a moment. The water pulled all her fears, all her problems, and all her insecurities, away. With every pull of the tide, she found herself immersed in freedom. The feeling overcame her, filled into every fiber of her being. Every crack that was ever made was filled with warmth. As soon as the feeling came it was gone. Drawn back into the depths of the ocean, gone forever. She sinks back into the life she had always lived. Bound by rules, held captive by her regrets, haunted by the demons of her past. And once again the weight of the world settles back onto her timeworn shoulders.

I wrote this piece to experiment with sensory details and try using figurative language. I hoped to paint a vivid picture so the reader could visualize the scene.
