The date is August 19th on this humid California morning, and Autum Chapner isn’t quite sure what she is going to do with her day. She thinks about her best friend, Summer Carlton, and thinks about what she could do with her. “I think im going to give Summer a call,” says Autum to herself. “Hey Summer what are you doing today?” Autum says. “Oh, I don’t think I have anything planned for today,” says Summer. “Well do you want to hang out today and watch some TV at my house or do our nails or something,” says Autum, “Sure” Summer replies.

When Summer arrives at Autums house, they start doing things they always do like painting nails and thinking about boys. Summer goes silent for a few seconds and then she says to Autum “Hey I think there is a dance party at the park tomorrow.” Both Autum and Summer get thinking about the dance party and think of who they could go with. They both come to the conclusion that they both don’t have any guy that will want to go with them to the dance party. “I can think of anyone that I could go with,” says Autum, “same here,” says Summer. “Well we can’t go to the dance party if we don’t have anybody to go with or it will be weird and awkward for us,” Summer says to Autum. “I have seen Carter looking over at me when I am walking out to my car and in town, you don’t think he likes me or anything do you,” says Summer, “are you talking about the Carter from highschool, like the cutest guy there was,” replies Autum, “yep, that’s the guy.” It is getting close to lunchtime and the two girls decide to go grab some taco bell and eat it in the park. As they are eating they see Carter doing his afternoon walk around town and he spots Summer. “Oh my gosh Summer, there is Carter over there and he is looking right at you,” Says Autum, “I know isn’t that cool,” Summer says. Carter starts walking over to the girls as they eat their lunch. “Hey Summer” says Carter “I have a question for you.” Summer asks Carter what his question is carefully and almost worried about what it will be. Carter proceeds with his question and asks Summer if she would like to go to the dance party with him. “Ohhhh Myyyy Goshhhh?!?! Yes I will go to the dance party with you Carter” Summer says excitedly.

Later that night Summer keeps texting and calling Autum to know if she still wants to go to the dance party with Summer, but all Summer sees on her phone is DELIVERED and READ but no reply from Autum.  Autum is mad at Summer because she is going to the dance with the hottest guy in town and not her own best friend. For the rest of that night Autum sits in her bedroom, very sad and upset about everything that happened. “I’m not gonna be with Summer if she is going with Carter,” Autum says in a tizzy. Summer is worried and just wants to know what is going on with Autum but can’t reach her in any way. The next day comes along, and it is the day of the dance party, and Autum is still upset that she doesn’t have anyone to go with, but feels really bad about her decision she made last night. Autum instantly calls Summer to let her know how she feels. Summer talks Autum into going to the dance party with her and Carter! The rest of the day is spent picking out stuff to wear to the dance party and get all dazzled up.

Now it is time for the dance party and Autum is super excited that she gets to go with Summer in the end. Autum apologises to Summer for everything she did leading up to the dance party, and Summer being her best friend accepts the sincere apology and the two girls go on to have one of the best nights of their lives. Carter and Summer enjoy their night very much and doesn’t mind any that  Autum is there with them and finds it much more fun with her there! Autum and Summer are back together as best friends again, and Carter may or may not have a new girlfriend!?
