Constantine
My TV Series Review: Constantine Season 1 Episode 10
Character Development
"Quid Pro Quo" may not have been as exhilarating and good as the previous 2 parter episodes, but it still was an entertaining ride that developed and explored characters much more.
The episode kicks off with an alarming coma that affected not just only thousands of people, but Chas' own daughter as well. This ignites Constantine the need to help Chas in order to get the countless souls back including the daughter.
The episode was more focused on developing Chas' character which we haven't seen for the previous episode and I'm glad we finally got it here. The flashback scenes were great transitions and showed how Chas' life was greatly affected with his partnership with Constantine and how he got his powers which gives him more lives than his own. The whole Constantine feel is felt all through out the episode and it was very satisfying. The visuals were still intact and scenes which are meant for scares are well done. Even after the episode, I feel that Chas' character will earn more important parts to future narratives considering the large range of stories in the Hellblazer comics. Just make sure the show doesn't get cancelled okay?
Overall, it's an episode that focuses on character development and it does it's job well to entertain us whatsoever.
+Character Development for Chas,
+ Visuals and Scary sequences,
+ Flashback scenes,
- Might turn out to be boring for other people
