Overview of Lil Peep - COWYS2
Music is a main part in any High Schoolers life, and many songs and albums are released every year. The album “Come over when you're sober Pt. 2” from the late Lil Peep is a posthumous release produced by the best friend of Lil Peep and producer smokeasac. There were two songs that were pre-released named “runaway” and “cry alone.”
When the album dropped on September 14th there was some backlash when fans thought that the auto-tune in Peeps voice was too strong, sounding like it wasnt even him.
I personally didn’t like any songs on the album. They all sounded very different from Peeps typical sound. The songs were auto tuned quite a bit more, and the beats of the songs were not as trap sounding. You could tell it wasn’t lil Peep who made the beats or produced songs. it was also slower sadder songs, and I like the faster more exciting songs with fast beats and more (hype) lyrics.
On the comments of the post by smokeasac announcing the albums release, there were hundreds of comments on how it didn't sound like the authentic lil peep. I agree with these people. On soundcloud there were a few leaked songs that were on the album, and when comparing those leaked ones to the ones released on the album, the leaked ones sounded more like peeps kind of singing and the rhythm and flow of this songs.
Out of all of the albums that Lil Peep has released throughout the years I believe that this is the worst. With the over use of auto-tune and the slower sad songs, and the not to Peep sounding beats, this album should not have even been released, or atleast to use the original songs that were produced by Peep before he passed.
