“Where is America?”  A typical question children and adults, outside of the US always wonder. This story really hits me hard, and I believe any outsiders from America would enjoy this book, too.
In, “A Step From Heaven,” a four-year-old korean girl, Young Ju Park, hears the word “Mi Gook (America)” for the first time and thinks it means “Heaven.” Park, later on went to America and She went through a lot of challenges.  Park had to live the way Americans live to be suitable. It was difficult for her to learn another language like many of us that came to America not knowing any English to start off. How will Park’s life be in America?
This book has brought me tears and had me very emotional, and I’m sure it will also bring you tears.
I recommend this book to those of you who are from other countries and trying to live the way American people are. The more you read, the more you’ll understand that you’re not alone. You’re not the only person who faced hardships.
