The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway

In 1926 Ernest Hemingway wrote The Sun Also Rises, which tells the story about British and American migrants living in Paris. Jake Barnes the main protagonist and is an American World War I veteran who struggles with his tangled relationship with Lady Brett Ashley who will not commit to a relationship with Jack.
Jack, Brett, & their friends are stuck on the situation of no one believing in traditions that had ended after World War I that before gave everyone’s lives meaning. It becomes hard for them to have something to believe in; therefore, leading them to fill in their time drinking and spending nights doing multiple activity’s to fill in their time. They seem to be lost and not able to find the spark in their lives as if they are a “lost generation.”
I definitely liked the book, while the story line was very amusing, the book made me think about what each character meant and the meaning behind their words. I would definitely recommend the book to anyone that loves Literature
