Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children is an incredible first book by Ransom Riggs. It is an unique fantasy that seems to be different than any book I've read (and I've read a lot of books). Everything begins with Jacob, a teenager who has gone through a traumatic family death. Because of this he is strangely compelled to visit a small island of the coast of England (present time thank goodness, no offense to post-apocalyptic story fans) which is where his grandfather grew up and where most of the story takes place. He explores this island and meets some very peculiar children who help him find out what really happened to his grandfather. It is an interesting story with captivating characters and strange photographs that make the story feel real. I recommend it to everyone ad hope that you enjoy it as much as I did.
