Be your own kind of beautiful.

A lot of books for young adults are very…incomplex. Simple, even. But ‘Thirteen Reasons Why’ is not one of those books. It all starts when a boy named Clay receives a set of mysterious cassettes. When he begins to listen to them, he realizes that the voice is from a classmate of his that recently committed suicide, Hannah Baker. As he listens to the tapes, he hears appalling stories of people in his high school and around town. The people on the tapes are the thirteen reasons why Hannah killed herself. Clay is first surprised, and then devasted to know that he is a reason. As he travels around the town, visiting the places on the tapes, he becomes more and more dreadful concerning what he could have said or done to Hannah to put him on the tapes. But maybe, Clay is an exception?
