The Eye of the world is a great book. It is full action, suspense, and many plot twist. The opening of the book provides only a little background on the main characters and current setting in a way that makes you want to learn more about them. It makes you want to read just to find out what kind of characters they will become later on. It starts off with a series of incidents that have you wondering what is going on and why the main characters are being swept up in it

The middle gets a little bit more boring then the rest of the book because it is dealing with a lot of politics and setting the main political ties for the rest of the book and series. This part is key though because it also reveals some key aspects of the other characters and this made me again want to continue reading. The author uses the characters in such a way that it make you feel as if you are struggling right along side them. All of the character aspects revealed in the middle only serve to set up for a great ending.

The ending of the book was really great. It had a climactic battle that left the reader thinking all was won. Later it is revealed that the battle was not won, more like it was delayed. The main character is forced to make decisions that leave the reader feeling for him and wishing you could help him out. He suffers greatly and the ending leaves the reading feeling that the main character will only suffer more till the end. It leaves off with a great ending that makes the read want to continue on and read the rest of the series.

So to conclude, The Eye of the World was a great book that only left the reader wanting more. Opening up with a cryptic beginning the book kind of slowed in the middle. This was quickly made up though with the great ending. This book is one of my favorites and I look forward to finishing the series.
