Unwind book review
Do you like running away from society because of absurd reasons? well, you can with the book UNWIND. You will not be the one running, it will be Connor the 16 year old unwind that is now running away from juvey cops. There is a rumor about a AWOL(absent without leave) unwind that turned a juvey cops tranq pistol against him. Then we have Risa, a ward of the state that is being unwound because she is not talented enough to be kept alive.Lev is a tithe. A tithe is a child raised to be unwound. What is unwinding you may ask. Unwinding is when your parents don't like you enough or something happens, then they sign the irreversible order of unwinding. It takes place at a harvest camp where nobody really knows how unwinding is done. The group also has to go thru lots and lots of hardships and tough times. Also times of loss and grief. but there are also lots of happy moments as the three of them run away from being unwound.
I feel that Unwind is a very good book because it leans on the fact that we may need to trust each other even in the worst of situations. It also has lots of areas where it goes from 1 to 11 really fast. I personally love the book. It is a great pick. Some areas that Neal Shusterman did very well was storytelling, lots of conflict and loss. The book also keeps you wondering where they are, and how they are going to survive here. it keeps you on the edge of your seat and never has a dull moment.
