Smart women is a nice read. It is a romance novel, but of course this is fiction. The book is all in third person, when you first start to read the book it may be hard to follow do to the different feelings from each of the characters. Mainly you only get feelings from Michelle (the daughter) and Margo (the main character/ mother). Some other charters are Andrew, he is the man that comes in to Margos life. Also there is Stuart, he is the son of Margo. Those are really the main ones but there are several others that pop in and out of the book. There is a lot of dialogue. Most of the time you feel like you are actually sitting right there observing the conversation. Smart Women is a very emotional book. At one moment you will feel happy due to the relationship between Margo and Andrew. Yet in another chapter you will feel broke because of the fights Madison and Margo have. The mood and tone of the of the book changes from chapter to chapter. It can be happy, sad, upsetting, angry, disappointing. Like I said before, this book is an emotional rollercoaster. At one point of the book Stuart started to yell at Michelle because she kept bad mouthing her mother due to her disapproval of Andrew. Stuart got into Michelle’s face. The way that Judy Blume described the feelings that they we having were confusing yet powerful. Judy alternated between characters explaining how they felt during the fight. Stuart got into Michelle’s face and said “If you ever pull something like that again I will kill you”.  In my opinion that scene was the most powerful scene in the book. You had the same feelings as the two characters. There was a lot of emotion that went on between Michelle and Margo. On scene where they were fighting was because michelle doesn't approve of andrew, or her mom dating anyone. They were yelling and the words “If you hate me the go live with daddy” came out of Margo’s mouth. This scene made me think about how much it would hurt me if my mom said something like that to me part of me would die. I recommend smart women it's a page turner. If you like drama this is the book for you.
