The Original Chop Shop Co.
Coming from an Italian family, I have always valued Italian food. Finding a good, authentic Italian restaurant has always been a challenge for me until recently. One afternoon my older sister wanted to go and try the Fox restaurant North. I did not hesitate once I recognized that it is a Fox restaurant because Fox restaurants normally do not disappoint.
The North we went to was in the Kierland Commons so finding a parking space was a challenge since it was a Saturday afternoon. We finally walked into the restaurant and I was immediately intrigued. The ambiance was a rustic, modern feel and it was warming and inviting. There was no wait to get a table and we decided to sit on their patio.
The kind hostess brought us to our table which was close to the bushes. As I sat down I realized how close our table was to the plants they have all along their patio, so we decided to scoot the table away from the bush a little. Our waitress was extremely inviting and attended to all of our needs and answered any of our questions.
As for the food, I was blown away. Every table gets bread and butter, but this is not any average bread and butter, it is a sun dried tomato butter. The bread and butter was so outstanding I actually ate a little bit of the butter plain. I order the spicy shrimp pasta and it was the perfect balance of spicy, tangy, and sweet. The shrimp in the pasta were perfect size to eat and not fishy. The pasta came with long, thick, wavy noodles that I truly enjoyed. My dish was $18, but I believe you pay for quality and that is what I received. I was perfectly full and satisfied when I left and I will definitely be visiting North again soon.
