A blind girl, Molly, in the story “Sound” goes to a café to listen to the soothing music of the pianist. She isn’t fond of the food or coffee, but she always returns. One day, the pianist stops playing and goes over to talk to her. She appreciates the fact that he doesn’t pressure her to find out how she became blind. The pianist, Christopher, begins to teach her how to play the piano since she enjoys the sound so much.

I enjoyed reading this article. I know firsthand the calming and relaxing feeling music can give a person, granted I prefer resonating dubstep over the sound of the strings being struck inside a piano. It is also comforting that there are people in this world who would be able to see past someone’s disability to know her as she truly is. He was also kind enough to begin to teach her how to play piano, seeing that she loved the sound of the instrument.
