Slavery in Modern Africa Response
In their article "Modern Child Slavery in Africa," Allison J. explains and brings up the issue of slavery in Africa and how the world chooses to ignore the problem.
I believe the author of the article is correct in their belief that the world needs to put a much greater emphasis on dealing with modern slavery. The Ivory Coast needs more attention and much of its exports are the result of some sort of slave work. I believe that the world needs to focus on stopping the selling of and movement of slaves throughout all of Africa. There are many foundations to build wells and give people access to clean water, but there are not nearly as many to stop slavery. The UN needs to press for greater international attention and action in the worst parts of Africa in regards to slavery and the child slave trade.
