Colloquial
Grammar has been tossed aside for the short hand version of real words. Some might argue that texting lingo is just the English language evolving into a more simplistic and faster form of communication. I disagree with that. The use of acronyms, shortcuts, and misspellings, as Melanie Konstantinou stated in her article, cause confusion, especially among non-native speakers. The texting lingo of English speakers may mean something entirely different in a different country. In the time it takes you to explain what you said, you could have just used the actual words themselves.
