popeyes
After a long while of trying to go, me and my friends finally all got together and went for about a 30 minute drive, our final destination was popeyes. At first I was thrown off by the looks of the restaurant and how unclean it was. The inside of the restaurant did not satisfy the looks part of this trip.
The line was like 4 people deep and it took like 15 minutes for us to get up to the register,
and what they were famously known for is their chicken sandwich, they were all out of the chicken sandwiches. I was very disappointed because we went all this way for the one thing that they were out of. I instead got 3 legs.
Already with pretty low standards going in, I was not expecting anything too great. My first bite that I took, it blew my mind on how perfect it was. It was breaded perfectly with a crispy golden brown outside and a steamy, juicy, warm inside. I was so shocked at how amazing the food was. The french fries were not too hot but at a perfect temperature and it had a perfect amount of salt on it.
It was not too expensive at all and I got a pretty good amount of food.
It was pretty weird how the service and looks of the restaurant were pretty low and completely unexpected and the food was beyond anything imaginable. The taste of the food most definitely made up for the bad service and poor cleanliness of the building. The Popeyes in Milwaukee was a 10/10 for taste of food but probably like a 2 or 3/10 for the customer service and cleanliness. I would definitely recommend but only as a place to go, not during busy times like 12 or 5 for lunch and dinner but as a place to go around like 3 if you're having a late dinner or something that night. If you are looking for something quick, this is the place.
