Made in China
The article “Made in China” written by Ellie Mandel made me feel alarmed. I didn’t realize how many Americans feel just because of their ancestry. People are being treated like aliens, and they are asked questions that have the same answer from everybody. The quote, “I never knew I had to remember my life as a one-year-old, unlike other people,” brought me to this realization. American citizens are still being called Chinese just because of how they look. When this woman said, “However, when reality sets in, people still marginalize me for what they see when they first look at me: a small Chinese woman,” I knew that this is a real problem in our society. I agree with this article that Americans and should be called Americans. People should not be treated different just because they look a little different.
