Way back then i know you felt uncomfortable
Back when we wanted to be that milky shade
Lost all count of all who’ve been in the  trade
This  topic made us make it governable
That milky shade made them feel unloveable
All of those weapons harshly made
You could only dream of being that ace of spade
Who would have thought a skin tone can make you disposable
But now look at you , eyes so bright
Finally the opportunity to laugh and smile
Sometimes that milky shade can make you feel worthless
Now you don’t have to be afraid to go out at night
Its has been worthwhile
Now that skin tone gives you a purpose

What really inspired me would have to be the fact that back then slavery was  harsh , and that milky shade ( white people ) maded certain people feel less of themselves . Now even though racism is still alive , black people can now somewhat be themselves. It was really triggered by something I saw that morning about how a black guy explained to a white guy how even though he was not a slave he is clearly reminded by hurtful people that he would be nothing more than that.
