The Night of Red
The sky seems to bloom,
A dark menacing red light,
Covering the cool star bright,
Bring promise to suspending doom,
The deafening sound of a boom,
Brings unimaginable impending plight,
With in this sacred holy night,
Quiet lulling of complete darkness coming soon,
A laughter filled village,
People dancing under the color of silver,
All unsuspecting till the appearance of the black swan,
Lays in waist from a devastating pillage,
The village is now the home of the red river,
Young to old, laughter to crying ''tis gone.

I was required to write a poem for my English class. While I was thinking I was reading a very good book involving magic. That was what inspired the black swan and red river mostly. The village was inspired by the Lost Colony. After I knew the direction of this poem, I built the rest around these two concepts.
