How can I be chirpy in a drab autumn haze
With the crisp wind zooming through the empty hall
My heart filled with commotions that I never tell
By the empty wooden desk I ensconce and gaze

Twirling fulvous leaves circle like gnats in a maze
Falling to the bare ground mutely in an spell
Lying there fetally curled, foul without a pal
I sighed and slowly closed the curtains in a daze

But open thine eyes and have a scrupulous leer
The cinnamon trunks garnished with chromatic leaves
Gently dancing in the ambrosial autumn breeze

When the sun rises and misty clouds disappear
The recalled torment will fade and my heart in peace
Then the melancholic sentiment can seize
