Eyes.

The first day in the hall they were deep blue,
They looked as deep as the ocean’s depth.
So different from anyone I once knew,
I would want no one else to take that breath.

That summer by the pool I would soon see,
Your oceans turned into emerald gems.
Taking me to my childhood to flee,
Away from all the broken and frayed hems.

But my favorite color was the dark gray,
Yet it was the hardest for me to find.
The last goodbye brought that color my way,
As the tears filled eyes I was lost in my mind.

I fell in love with colors in the hall,
I fell in love with depths above it all.
