Autumn

Once a sprout is now a plant, big and tall,
The wind begins to howl in the night.
Temperatures drop and leaves begin to fall.
Yellow and red leaves on trees is a site,
At this point all have grown and hit their peak.
Over the hill and going downwardly,
Eternal youth is all we wish to seek.
Leaves begin to droop looking cowardly,
By this time maturity has reached its height,
Death still seems far, but a topic of thought.
Reflection of life ending in a sigh,
Success and failures leaves for lessons taught.
With age comes maturity of the mind,
Autumn does not age the body as kind.
