Future
I am to be wed for honor, for fame
I and my heirs will have wealth and beauty
But my dreams these dresses and balls did maim
for I cannot deny this destiny
Those beautiful gowns and jewels will be mine
Balls, teas, and parties that I must attend
But down another path my eyes still shine
Here all I shall be is their harlequin
So for my final trick, I shall deny
I claim myself to be both fair and shrew
Between Scylla and Chardybis stands I
I give myself to sisters, not to you
By the lark’s call you shall see me lie dead
And so now, with this poison I thee wed
