The End
We shared our affection six months ago.
I just want us the way we used to be...
We broke our hearts, but let's not let it show;
Trying to forget there once was a "we."
Sometimes life is simply just not fair;
I can't believe we turned out this way.
But it's the end, you told me with your stare.
I tried not to cry when I heard you say
"Maybe later" - I know you mean "never."
You told me you still cared; don't think that's true.
Tears and lies - our relationship severed.
Sorry that I'm just not enough for you.
I could go on and once again pretend,
But this time it's for real - we've reached the end.
