Off to Antarctica
What is it about early morning bus rides
15 minutes to be no one.
15 minutes to sit and listen to the sighs
Of the creaky bus as it runs.
I get up at 6:15 like everyone else,
I hate daily life like everyone else.
Sometimes I want to move to Antarctica
Just sit there in the ice.
Sometimes I want to move to Antarctica,
Yeah, I think that’d be nice.
What is it about that one class
Just sitting and contemplating death.
Just waiting for eternal minutes to pass,
Count the seconds, count the breaths.
I do the homework like everyone else,
I don’t really try like everyone else.
Sometimes I want to move to Antarctica
Just sit there in the ice.
Sometimes I want to move to Antarctica,
Yeah, I think that’d be nice.
What is it about the daily grind
Makes me wanna screech
Makes me want to lose my mind
Now what’s this lesson you’ve gotta preach?
I drag my feet like everyone else
Walk down the street like everyone else.
Sometimes I want to move to Antarctica
Just sit there in the ice.
Sometimes I want to move to Antarctica,
Yeah, I think that’d be nice.

I wrote this at 2AM for a school assignment deep in my angsty teen hatred of everything.
