Eggs were hidden in the grass.
As children smiled and ran right past.

The parents watched in near distance.
As they questioned the Easter existence.

Why were they celebrating on such a day?
A playful, happy Easter Sunday.

They thought back to before time.
Hoping to get their facts in line.

A man tall and skinny standing there.
Wobbly and unsteady and kind of scared.

Crown of nails and rusted pins.
All the people wished to kill him.

They pierced his hands and cut his head.
They tortured and tortured until he was dead.

He died for one reason and sacrificed his life.
To make sure everyone could live without the strife.

Jesus stood tall that day and was laid in the den.
So we could live and be forgiven of all our sins.
