We could be better
Think I just threw out everything that I own,
It's easier to not remember
But here I am, still got your pictures on my phone,
Looking at them when I'm alone
You're doing good and I'm doing fine, but you're on my mind
Are we better this way?
Maybe we're better this way
Tell me why is that so hard to say?
You're not mine and I'm not yours
But I wish you were, and I wish I was
I remember looking at you, wanting you to touch
But not too much, I don't wanna go too far and it cost up
You put your arm across my back, left to right shoulder
And you kissed me, do you remember?
Do you remember my heart beating through my chest for you, for the first time?
These flashbacks, I have
They go from night into the day
It is the only way I see you
I’m haunted by all the ways I went astray,
I know I can't be where you are
But I'm still wishing on a star
For the impossible
So turn back the clock, I'll be so much better
We could be better
