State Of Mind
a heart that beats to the sound of my voice
lets rejoice
in the fact that we block out the noise
given off by the people
drowning while they’re drinking
we don’t hear their words
but we echo what they’re thinking
we are the silence breaking through the sound
we are the heartbeats breaking as they pound
we are the shadows sitting at a distance
we are the sorry souls pleading for existence
