Finger crossed

I don't understand what we do sometimes. These streets aren't worth your time. All the gang bagging' it's not worth all the drama and the trauma. You think you got it made but, at the end of the day you are still the little kid that your mama tried to raise. You got your fingers crossed, wishing for them better days but, they never came yet you still trying to change. You see the tears in your mama's eyes and the hurt you caused your girl all because, you wont quite all the lies and the games. Don't you realize what you doing? You tearing down you family. Your own memories gone all because, these boys got you brain washed thinking you're all alone but that isn't the case so just go home. Kiss your girl, give your mama a hug and, tell your two month old daughter that you love her. Just as quick as the sun goes up it comes down. What goes around comes around. So lets get off this merry go round. This ain't the play ground. You saying you're a man well why don't you act like one? because there is no crying to your mama. You better beat these streets before they beat you. The government isn't doing nothing for you. Daddy gone, mama working doubles just to put food on the table. You think that you're alone, boy please open your eyes and recognize what you see. You got something to live for and that's your family. These streets aren't doing anything but, tear you down. So raise up and be a true king; a king of knowledge and stability. Your girlfriend should be them books and, not the girl down the street trying to make a quick buck. Don't use your gun, use your head because knowledge is the most powerful thing you can have right now. I know you're tired, I know you're drained but, you got to stop playing these games and live life to the fullest; no telling when we got to leave to be with the one who created you and me. So just breathe and think about your future well being; no telling our last day on this earth but, maybe we can try to be the best we can be and, get out these streets that are trying to get you and me so just breathe and be happy that you're living and have the chance to spend time with your family.
