Verse one
I live in a fantasy where the world is my oyster.
I walk along the sand and pretend I'm a bluebird,
But I'm just a sparrow in this mean world
Waiting to get blown over.

Verse two
I'm one of those girls who wears her heart on her sleeve,
But sharks in the water would rather see me bleed.
As i try to cling to my sanity
It slips away from me.

Verse three
The silver lining looks more like aluminum.
Try to make myself feel better but i just end up going numb.
Self help books line my library walls.
I sometimes use them for door stoppers because...

Chorus
There's no way I can get through this by myself.
All alone in a hole i dug without help.
"There's no hope, I give up!" I cry.
I hear a voice, "All hope's not lost."
And I fly.

Verse four
Clouds fill the sky and the air gets colder.
I think of you and i hope that you hold her.
Don't mind the silence, guess it isn't so bad.
I'll just think back to my time in the sand, 'cause...

Chorus
There's not way i can get through this by myself,
All alone in a hole i dug without help.
Broken heart and my hands are tied,
But You wiped away every tear that i cried.

Verse five
We've all got our problems.
Who's to say if we even could solve them.
When I'm feeling lost beyond hope,
I look up to the stars
And i know I'm not alone.

The author's comments:
This is the first thing I'm posting cause this is the first thing I thought was actually any good :P I wrote it in the summer of 2013. I was going through a bit of a hard time and I felt let down by the world and discouraged because I never thought I would be able to accomplish my dreams. When you're young you have so many expectations in life, but as you get older you see they don't always have much reality to them. You pretend you're something so great that deserves to be famous, successful ect. when you're really just like everyone else. That's kinda the mind set I was in when I wrote this. In the end, though, I found it was God who would always be there for me, even when no one else was and he would make sure i had purpose in this life.
