Last night I walked in alone
Didn't know why I was there
Or what I thought I'd find
As I sat there on the stairs

I saw you walk in the door
And I was lost in time
Saw you say 'Hi' to your friends
Then you looked at me and I

I'm falling, falling
You smile at me
I'm trying, trying
Not to seem
Like I've got the butterflies
'Cause I'm lost in your eyes
And when you say hello
Oh baby I just know
I'll never be the same
So please don't go awa-a-a-ay

See you walk over to me
And everybody starts to stare
Like 'Who's that girl he's looking at'
And there's sparks flyin' through the air

You ask me to dance with you
I try to play it off fine
I nod my head and say 'Yes'
Like this kinda thing happens all the time

I'm falling, falling
You smile at me
I'm trying, trying
Not to seem
Like I've got the butterflies
'Cause I'm lost in your eyes
And when you say hello
Oh baby I just know
I'll never be the same
So please don't go awa-a-a-ay

Ohh!
Don't let this night end
I have to tell you
That I'm enchanted
And I think you are too

I'm falling, falling
You smile at me
I'm trying, trying
Not to seem
Like I've got the butterflies
From the look in your eyes
'Cause when you say hello
Oh baby I just know
I'll never be the same
So please don't go awa-a-a-ay

Oh-oh-oh-oh-ohh-oh!
Please don't go away
I'll never be the same
No-oh baby
Just don't go away

The author's comments:
I wrote this song and it's about falling for a guy when you least expect it, but you're just in love the minute he walks in. Just like he walks in and Bam! It just hits you but you know, you don't want him to know so you play it off cool but inside you're just like all butterflies and such.

I like it. I typically don't like poems about love, but this one seems to be above the rest, although I couldn't tell you why. Just a critique, and I need to fix this about my poems as well, don't write with a rhythm going throgh your head. It makes it sorta awkward for others to read that might have another rhythm going through THEIR heads. But, otherwise, a good poem. Keep on writing. 3.85/5
