I'm plugging in my headphones
Though my head-tones aren’t feeling right
I’d rather die alone here now
Than see your face tonight

Though the days are getting colder
I’m getting older
And you were once my freight
I’m putting up my windows
Hoping my sin goes
‘Cause I don’t want to fight

Now I choose to stay here,
And I know they call me weird
But what’s the point of trying?

I lost control
My heart told me so
And it felt like I was dying

We're teenagers. We plug in all the time. We plug in our headphones when we're doing homework. We plug in to keep out the noise by replacing it with a more pleasant one. Maybe sometimes we plug in just because we can. Or maybe we plug in because plugging in is what we have to do to keep ourselves sustained through school, life, sports and enough drama to last us a millennium. I plugged in when I was dealing with thoughts about somebody from the past who made me feel foolish. How many times have you plugged in?
