Forgetting the Past
Look at the past.
It’s behind you,
but people try to make the bad memories last.
They don’t realize what they have to do,
to forget these depressing thoughts so that they too,
can stop feeling blue.
Dwelling on bad memories is like a park,
one that is empty and dark,
except for you.
No one else is there to guide you through,
the gray path covered with fallen trees and lifeless bark.
It seems like the way out is not close but far.
The way out is when you find a way to forget,
and learn not regret,
things that have happened in the past.
The present time goes by as fast as a cheetah hunting its prey.
But live in the moment,
because one day it too will be known as your past.
