If Life Were A Song
If life were a song
A crescendo would start
From the moment we’re born
The first beat of our heart
Moments of rest
After days filled with fun
Small pauses in-between
For the setting of the sun
Trebles for the highs
Those moments that will last
Basses for the low
Those times that are past
Half notes for lasting times
Repeats for Déjà Vu’s
Staccatos for those times
I had spent with you
Then as we get closer
Decrescendo will set in
Marking this lifetime
As one that’s reached its end
If life were a song
A splendid one it’d be
For no other song
Could captivate “me”
