White Skies
I think Syd ran away now,
People tell me he’s South bound,
As proximity winds down,
I see your nothing but snakes now
But I can’t escape sounds telling me to go
And never ever come home.
And Lisa lives in a nightgown
That drops whenever the sun’s down
I tried to make her forget them
She says you don’t understand
And just lets go of my hand
To find a new brand new
“A love that’s nothing like you”
And what I’ve done, I don’t know
I just know enough to say
That what I’ve seen, in my head,
Made the colors fade to grey,
Forgive me for forgetting why,
I stood tall above the shade,
I thought I’d make it out alive…
…………………………………………….
But I saw the fever hit her
Saw the white skies in her eyes
And it tore me apart.
