When I was a boy, I would always hear scary things in the news and my mother would say to me, "Always look for the helpers. Everywhere you look you will always find people helping." - Fred Rogers

Take my hand, dear child.
We'll walk through the night.
I love you, dear child.
With all my heart, and all my might.
You look down desperation.
At the many pills, all scattered.
My heart feels a sensation.
It feels so broken, so tattered.

Child, you are blind to the seas of gold.
Fly into my arms, and let your tears unfold.
Let the illusions wash away with waves of love.
The light in your soul is what so many people dream of.
Please see, it hurts me to see you in woe.
I love you more than anything, you just do not know.

Left alone and crying, you watch the night skies.
You see the night go, and your tears dry with sunrise.
The tears amount to bridges over the lock.
My love is everywhere on this path that you walk.
Every time I see you I can't help but smile.
You know that I love you, sweet, sweet child.

Shade, this is something I expect to read whenever I'm feeling useless. It is beautiful and uplfiting, but sad at the same time. How do you entwine emotions so expertly? I've tagged this one for my favorites. 5/5! You really would make a wonderful songwriter.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant. -The Doctor

This was amazing. I loved every second of it.

I am finally going to comment on your work... Haha. This was beautiful! In the beginning I was a little bit cynical about it but the middle and end are wonderful as well. It developed very well, and the use of repitition in this particular piece assists in the overall beauty of it. Great job!

AWWWHHH! I'm not sure if the narrator is the mother or not, but it feels like it is. I love the rhyme, too! :D Awesome job!

I like it alot. It's depressing that there are so many works on teenink and nothing gets recognised because this was really awesome! keep writing, you did a great job!!

"Would she hear me if I called her name? Would she hold me if she knew my shame? Would she even love me if I was to blame?" -Favourite poem ever♥

Oh my God... I love this... So so so so so so much. I feel like I have a connection with it, and the way you refer to whomever the person is to a child really makes it fall together; I'm going to guess this is about suicide in a way, and I feel like that's really how they end up feeling inside... Feeling like a broken child. Thank you so much for writing and sharing this... You've actually helped me slow down my... thoughts. (: ♥ -Rae
