The beautiful thing about writing is that you don't have to get it right the first time, unlike, say, a brain surgeon. ~Robert Cormier

Verse 1
Sittin’ up here in this tree
Strummin’ my guitar
It plays on the breeze
Wonderin’ where you might be
And if you are as lonely as me
But I know you’re not
You’re no longer in this life
But I’ll let myself dream one more time

Chorus 1
You’re runnin’ to the front door
I meet you on the porch
You lift me up, and spin me ‘round
You talk sweetly; swear you’ll never leave me
I don’t notice the tears fallin’ down my face
If you were here you’d kiss them away
I know you can’t hear me
But just know, I can’t believe
I can live without you

Verse 2
Listenin’ to the Sunday sermon
Thumbin’ trough my Bible
Preacher says he’s certain
That you’re restin’ in peace
And always watchin’ over me
But it hurts so bad
You’re no longer in my life
But I’ll let myself dream one more time

Chorus 1
You’re runnin’ to the front door
I meet you on the porch
You lift me up, and spin me ‘round
You talk sweetly; swear you’ll never leave me
I don’t notice the tears fallin’ down my face
If you were here you’d kiss them away
I know you can’t hear me
But just know, I can’t believe
I can live without you

Bridge
I’m torn apart, hollow
I’m going numb
Fallin’ asleep tonight, before the sun comes
I dream of you

Chorus 2
You’re runnin’ to the front door
I meet you on the porch
You lift me up, and spin me ‘round
You talk sweetly; swear you’ll never leave me
I feel you kiss the tears fallin’ down my face
I don’t want this moment to slip away
I hope you can hear me
Please just know, it’s just so hard
To go on without you

The author's comments:
I think all of us can relate to losing someone important in our lives. You think you can't go on without them, but the world has other ideas. And sometimes, you just need to breath in, breath out, and go.

Lol, on the quote...I put 'breath in and breath out'. Sorry, silly little dumb mistake. It's supposed to be 'breathe in and breathe out' XP
