"A paint splatter is just another form of art".

I lay my head to your heart,
Waiting for a beat,
But only silence comes to ear,
No one makes a peep,

I bury you with lilacs,
And kiss you on the cheek,
Then say goodbye forever,
For now you are fast asleep

I promise to remember,
How much you meant to me,
And how you will be in my heart,
Forever, as if you were still with me

I will tell our children,
To love the ones in their hearts,
To hold on to any moment,
Before, they are split apart

But as I grow old,
Our children will sing this song,
To me, goodbye forever,
And leave me all alone

They will bury me with lilacs,
And kiss me on the cheek,
Then say goodbye forever,
For now I am fast asleep

The author's comments:
This poem is actually part of a story I wrote. The girl, Grace, sings this to a boy she loves. He is getting hanged for a crime he did not do. I isnpired to write this poem while writing the story. It shows Grace's love for him.
