When life gives you lemons make grape juice. Then sit back and watch everyone look at you in amazement. :)

I flew towards the stars, and passed you on a cloud
You posed before my eyes, and beckoned me come closer
A smile barely traced on your lips
Promising a rest for my weary soul
You held me and lulled me to sleep
Singing sultry words into my virgin ears
When I found rest in your comfort, you grabbed my wings
And ripped apart the skeletal frame
My dreams were strung upon
You snapped my joy, you cracked my hope
Then flew into the sky
It is so nice to fly, you said
As you laughed at my broken wings
The sound still ringing inside my head
As I haltingly struggled to rise
Peace shattered, mind unwound
Searching for bits of resolve, finding them
And then stringing them together around my fragile neck
You will not break me, you shall not win
I crawled to the corner of my being
I ripped the wings out of my back
Gasped as they detach
The tearing sound a silent howl of agony
I stared with tears gathering
In the corner of my eyes
At the wings that are no more
But I will not be defeated
You cannot hold me down
I grit my teeth, and straighten up
I paste my wings together
Sewing up the rips and tears
Binding the frame with starlight
I gingerly attach them to my back
And slowly move to a mirror
Tears run down my cheeks
Silent in their coursing
As I look at my handiwork
Sewn, glued and bound
"See?" I whisper "You're beautiful."
