Lost In Time
Wasted space filled by wasting time.
Minutes pass while the clock unwinds.
Another hour gone, nothing complete.
How many fight can be lost
before admitting defeat?
Like a pendulum, I swing back and forth
between laziness and boredom, the
double-edged sword.
Attack the clock with ignorance and pride;
into the endless continuum I blindly ride.
Lost in time.
What time is it?
Chipping away life
bit by bit.
Never slows down,
moments pass by.
Isn't it funny
how fast time flies?
How much time is a life truly worth if it's
gone in a second,
nothing less, nothing more?
A moment is all it took for
the murderer to pull the trigger and
the body to hit the floor.
Next minute, it happens again and
this time, I still don't understand.
Gone forever, an eternity long.
Pain endures longer than the length of this song.
Lost it time.
What time is it?
Chipping away life
bit by bit.
Never slows down,
moments pass by.
Isn't it funny
how fast time flies?
An old man lays down, a
pain in his chest.
How long has it been since
he learned how to rest?
Glance at the clock
before he lays in bed.
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick...
The clock is dead.
Lost in time.
What time is it?
Everybody dies,
better not forget.
Heaven's too far,
too hard to get.
Better ask yourself,
"Is it my time yet?"
Your memory will be
lost in time.

I wrote this almost immediately after I heard the news. Fortunately, I did not personally know any of the victims, but the incident made me think. I hope this poem makes you think also.
