Camera Frame
The ground is cold now beneath your feet
The earth is barren along this empty street
Tired and broken with nowhere to turn
In your mind's eye you keep watching it crash, crash and burn
You think back on all the years
You wade back through all the tears
In the end it fell beyond your hands
They forced you gagged into a stupid dance
And they're laughing through all their tears of joy
And you smile through all your tears of pain
But it all looks the same
On the camera frame
So you shrug and turn and walk away
She didn't know it was your castle
She didn't know it was your home
She didn't realize when she tore it down
She took away your only place to go
She didn't know you were that fragile
And she didn't know how much you cared
She didn't realize she had that much power
She didn't understand how much you held in there
And she's ranting in all her frustration
And you nod along through all your angry pain
But it all looks the same
On the camera frame
So you shrug and turn and walk away
You stand at the foot of all the wreckage
The damage they thought was just a game
And all the life in you goes with it
And you wonder if you'll ever be the same
Now you're screaming in all of your fury
And you're running through all of your pain
They won't put the flames
On the camera frame
But think time you can't walk away
Because they burned all your reasons for living
And they blew away all of your strength
And now there's nothing left
On that damn old camera frame
With apologies they turn and walk away
