Titlewave
The tears run
From my palms into the ocean
And the water burns my heart
As it shudders into slow motion (shh. Shh)
The sand crinkles
Under my bare feet as the grains cool down
And the water chills the fire
That burned so loud
And now flickers into nothing
And I’m just standing here
Waiting for these scars to heal
Time is ticking away
It’s time to know what’s real
Bring in the tide
Wash these tears away
Come steal me ocean
Take me on your titlewave
The sand crumbles
Of broken glass the wind swept away
If wind can take the broken
So can you, titlewave.
The rain falls
Whispering that nothing could have changed.
The lightning would have still struck
The water’s kaleidoscope masquerade (shh. Shh)
The breeze flows
Through my fingertips
Blowing away what blood
Is still clenched in my fists.
And the water won’t give me the strength
To let go.
Because I still possess useless hope.
And I’m just standing here
Waiting for these scars to heal
Time is ticking away
It’s time to know what’s real
Bring in the tide
Wash these tears away
Come steal me ocean
Take me on your titlewave
The sand crumbles
Of broken glass the wind swept away
If wind can take the broken
So can you, titlewave.
Take me on your titlewave.
Rinse the tears
I’ve been waiting for years,
To run away. To fly
Roll the waves.
Erase the chains.
And set the bird free!
Bring in the tide.
Wash these tears away.
And though I can’t let go,
I’ll wait here anyway.
Bring in the tide (Rinse the tears)
(I’ve been waiting for years)
Wash these scars away. (To run away. To fly)
Come steal me ocean (roll the waves. Break the chains)
Take me on your titlewave (and set this bird free.)
The sand crumbles…
Of broken glass the wind swept…
Away.
Away. (Shh)
Away.
Shh.
Shh.
