Ghosts of our past

We hang pictures on our walls
Like memories
To remind us of our rise and fall
A remedy

But what’s the point of all the pictures
When there’s nothing behind
But blank faces

So you insist on keeping every memory in a box
Cos you can’t forget

And I’ve seen you stare at the hollow existence
Of what’s left
But they don’t exist anymore
Just the ashes of our past

So you insist on keeping every memory in a box
Cos you can’t forget

So I watch as you spiral into loneliness
But the Ghost of Christmas Past has come and gone
It time you moved on

So you insist on keeping every memory in a box
Cos you can’t forget
Please try to forget
Please try to forget...
