Fifteen
I am fifteen
So many years of life I've yet to live
So many things the world has yet to give
And I have no idea what my life will bring.
Just yesterday, it seems, I ran along the beach,
Wind playing with my hair, waves gently crashing
Unaware, the sea of troubles I've yet to reach
I am fifteen
So many years I have left to live
So many gifts the world waits to give
Yet I have already laughed with all my heart,
Walked a thousand steps down never-ending piers.
I might think I know how it feels, to fall apart,
Though I've only fifteen years.
I am fifteen
So few years of life I've had to live
So much more the world will someday give
Would you believe me if I told you
I am only fifteen
