Smoldering
The days go by
Sort of like swallowing stones
Living slowly
Sort of like inhaling flames
One viel of a thousand shames
Lie conspicuously over my head
When I look in the mirror
Can't tell if it's fatigue or
Dread
That lies heavily
In the pulp of my cheek
Making me seem weak
My only peaceful breaths are
Taken while I'm asleep
Those wounds that root so deep
Grow numb while I'm dreaming &
The sun is beaming
Upon the hazing horizon
Falling for everyone
And truly no one
Love that's genuine
Afraid there is none
I'v huffed, smoked and cut
My senses dulled
My third eye shut
The days go by sort of like swallowing boulders
The weight of my life burning upon my shoulders.
