He's Not You
He's alright,
Good looking, nice.
He's not perfect.
But who is?
Sure as heck not you.
I keep looking for someone new.
But each one has the same issue.
One I can't see through.
He's not you.
That's why I'm alone:
Comparing them to you
leaves me on my own.
I can't find another you.
Why do I have to?
Where are you?
What happened to the you I knew?
He left me here, and hasn't returned
To sweep me off my feet.
I don't know this person in front of me now.
He looks like you,
Same blue eyes, blond hair,
Same cute smile, but not the same person.
I hate him.
I keep looking for someone new.
But each one has the same issue.
One I can't see through.
He's not you.
Look me in the eyes!
I'm sick of all these stupid lies!
Please, just answer my silent plea.
Turn around, come on back to me.
Answer me!
I beg of you, please!
I miss how you made me feel
Electricity
I miss your looks, so lovingly
Intended only for me.
I keep looking for someone new.
But each one has the same issue.
One I can't see through.
He's not you.
If I say I'm over it,
I'm just lying to myself,
Cause I have your picture on my shelf.
A picture to remind me
Of a disappearing memory.
I keep looking for someone new.
But each one has the same issue.
One I can't see through.
He's not you.
