Life is a Gift
I walk this path that we call life.
The path is short but very wide.
My feet leave marks that I cannot erase,
they might create problems that I could face.
In the daytime my journey is clear,
but in the nighttime, I bleed with fear.
When the end is near, I look at my life in reflection
and I examine each aspect with careful inspection.
There were rugged mountains and uphill roads.
There were times where I had to carry loads
However there were some much-needed rests,
and sometimes those were simply the best.
Looking back on the journey, I would take it again,
but that path has already been walked, my friend.
So now I live in the moment, without any regret.
I never finish a journey feeling upset.
I look forward to the future, and turn my back to the past
Because today is just a gift, the present never lasts.
